Development That Benefits All Sarasota
"The citizens of Sarasota need holistic development that benefits the entire county. If elected, I will push against developers to force systematic change, support multiple forms of transportation, identify and implement affordable housing options, and establish more significant safeguards for the surrounding environment."
New Leadership for Sarasota County
"I am running to highlight the decades-long failures of the Republican commission. The problems facing Sarasota today are a direct result of one-party decisions for the last 50+ years. It is time for a new face and new ideas on the County Commission."
Save Old Miakka
Daniel Kuether speaking to the Board of County Commissioners on 8.31.22 in opposition to CPA 2022-B.
CPA 2022-B is an amendment to the Sarasota County Comprehensive Plan that would open 4,000 acres of historical rural land for a new development of 5,000 single-family homes. The County Commission accepted the developer's (SMR) plan without any request for changes.
Proactively & Fundamentally Environmental
"It is no longer enough to safeguard our beaches for tourism. It is now about keeping the barrier islands habitable and protected from monster storms, decreasing waste from the impact of a massively growing population, and protecting species and habitats to prevent complete habit and ecosystem collapse."
Working Hard for the Citizen Voice
"We can no longer hold public forums to check them off our to-do list. The County Commissioners must stop pretending they're listening to the citizens of Sarasota County. This refusal includes the continued attempt to defy a voter mandate and overthrow the broadly popular Single Member Districts. I'm ready to listen to the voters."

I grew up on a stretch of rural, family-owned farmland in Ohio. One of five kids, I attended the local public K-12 school, and after, I continued my education at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, earning a Bachelor of Arts.
I have spent over a decade in real estate industries, from property management and development to real estate tech. As a result, I have gained a unique appreciation of the true definition of affordable housing and how developers and governments often push and pull, jeopardizing a fundamental human need.
While working in New York City, I met my husband, Dr. Ryan Suplee, a Sarasota native. We knew we needed a community close to relatives where we felt comfortable raising a family. So, with our dog Häagen, we moved to Sarasota in 2018.
Shortly after arriving in Sarasota, Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, the master developer of Lakewood Ranch, hired me as their Realtor Liaison. After two years, I left SMR to bring my Real Estate knowledge to the world of tech startups. I now work as a UX/UI Designer, helping a real estate tech company solve old problems with new software solutions.
Innovation and problem solving are at the core of my everyday life. I want to bring my professional experience to the Sarasota County Commission and work hard to improve the region I love.
